Error: Cannot find the language resource file (dblgen11.dll)
When starting QuickBooks you get an error: Cannot find the language resource file (dblgen11.dll)
How to fix it
Windows 7 or Windows Vista:
- Click the Windows Start Button.
- In the Search Window at the bottom of the Start Menu type in %temp%.
- Open the Temp Folder that is found.
- Scroll down and find the dblgen11.dll files(s), there may be more than one.
- Delete all dblgen11.dll files found.
- Start QuickBooks
Windows XP:
- Click on the Windows Start button.
- Click on Run.
- In the Open line type %temp% (without the quote marks ()).
- Click OK and the Temp folder will open.
- Scroll down and find the dblgen11.dll files(s), there may be more than one.
- Delete all dblgen11.dll files found.
- Start QuickBooks.
