In the past, renaming a company file was somewhat difficult.

You would have to close the QB POS program, then open the Control Panel.

You would go to Admin Tools, Services, then stop the Intuit Entitlement Client, and the QBPOS database manager.

Then rename the folder where the company data was held.

When you restarted the services, and opened QB POS, you could run into a connection wizard telling you it could not locate the files, and you had to select the one you had just renamed.

With QB POS , it is much, much simpler.

With the program open, simply go to File, Company operations, rename company.

This will allow you to change the name of the company file without having to go through the whole Control Panel steps.
