Transferring Items from QuickBooks financial into QuickBooks Point of Sale 10.0

For those of you that are familiar with the previous versions of QuickBooks Point of Sale, the method of getting items from QuickBooks financial programs into QuickBooks Point of Sale have changed in version 10. After linking QuickBooks Point of Sale to your financial program you no longer get the prompt asking if you want to transfer items.  In order to transfer items, take the following steps:


1.  Click on the Financial drop-down menu at the top of the program

2.  Click on Financial Center

3.  In the Actions section click on Show Advanced Options

4.  In the Actions section click on Import Items Now

5.  Select the appropriate items from the drop-down selection lists for what you want

6.  Click Next

7.  Select whether you want to select specific items to import or not.  If you select Yes, you will be given a list of all active items in the financial program to select from.  If you select No, all active items will be imported (not the inactive items)

8.  Click Import Now

NOTE:  You can go through this process as many times as you want but if you do, importing the same items a second time WILL duplicate them in the QuickBooks Point of Sale Item List.
