For years, users have had a basic set of templates built into the QuickBooks and QuickBooks Enterprise programs that allowed you to customize these forms. But how to customize them to get the look, feel and content you needed could be a daunting task.
Often, you would need to do a large amount of research, and in some cases buy books outlining the information you needed, and then try to recreate the template. For new users, this could have some very mixed results.
Even Tech Support, with their vast knowledge of business types and needs, may not be able to readily get the results you were looking for.
Over the years, Intuit has taken feedback, sought advice, and looked for resources to help with this difficult task.
As a result, they have been able to add pre-formatted, industry specific reports to the program. But even this did not solve all of the issues facing the customers.
Now, there is another resource that may help the users to get what they need.
Intuit has a Template Gallery, where you can download templates for various business needs that were created by other users of the program. Some are ready to go, and have everything you are looking for. Others are very close, and all you need to do is do some minor modifications to have the template fit the bill.
Intuit’s Template Gallery can be reached by opening the Help, and search for Template Gallery. There will be a listing (usually the second one down) that says “Download a template from the QuickBooks Template Gallery”
There is a line on the left, that has a lightening bolt. This will use your internet connection to open the Template Gallery.
Following these directions, you can download and use the templates that best work for you, and modify them if you need.
There is also a linkage to upload templates you have created, that may be of use to others.
Please take some time, and see if the Gallery holds templates that may be helpful to you. This is another new feature in QBES.
