It is possible to get a message that says Encryption Error when trying to process debit cards with the I-3070 pin pad made by Ingenico.
This can be caused by a couple of things. In some cases, it is a bad read on the magnetic stripe on the card. In other cases, it can indicate that the data encryption keys have been lost from the pin pads memory.
If shutting down POS and restarting it does not clear the error, the pin pad may need to be reprogrammed.
If you recently received the pin pad from Intuit, you may need to contact them for a replacement.
